Schroders is putting an emerging-markets bond strategy on Solana through a tokenized feeder fund built with Centrifuge. Investors are not buying the underlying bonds directly. They are buying tokenized fund shares tied to the net asset value of a feeder that invests into Schroders’ existing bond fund.
That matters because most tokenized real-world assets today are still concentrated in U.S. Treasuries and money market products. Those categories make up $14 billion of the roughly $39 billion market, so this pushes a different kind of exposure onchain: government and corporate debt from developing economies.
Schroders, which managed $1.1 trillion as of June, brings institutional scale to that effort. But for now, the news is the structure, not proof of demand. It does not tell us how much capital will come in or whether those tokenized shares will trade with meaningful liquidity.
