The Cardano Foundation has put its 2025 financial statements on-chain, along with an attestation from Grant Thornton. The foundation says this is the first time that outside attestation has been included in its on-chain reporting.
What that means, and what it does not: this is not a live audit of the Cardano network. Grant Thornton reviewed the foundation’s financial statements. The blockchain piece is where those statements were posted and preserved in public.
That still matters. In most cases, outside verification and on-chain posting are separate. Here, Cardano combined them, so anyone can see what was disclosed and when.
But putting records on-chain does not automatically make them complete, and it does not answer every governance question. The real value depends on what the statements cover and how strong the audit work is behind them. The bigger point is simple: Cardano is testing a more public way to publish foundation accounts. Whether that improves accountability depends on how much gets disclosed, and whether it keeps happening.
Cardano Foundation putting its audited 2025 financials on-chain tests whether transparency becomes a real product advantage.
