Uniswap has extended its VolatilePair Hook to Robinhood Chain, where it has launched an Ethereum-to-USDG pool with about $3.5 million in liquidity. It’s the second live deployment of the hook; the other is on Ethereum, in a pool pairing Ethereum with USDC.
A hook is a programmable add-on that changes how a Uniswap pool operates. VolatilePair sets separate liquidity-provider fees for each swap direction and recalculates them on every trade. So buying Ethereum and selling it back can carry different fees, rather than both directions paying one fixed rate. Uniswap says the design aims to keep more value in the pool and reduce losses to fast arbitrage after price swings.
The Robinhood Chain pool also uses tick spacing of one, compared with four on Ethereum, and has a tighter resting fee spread. The deployment gives the same hook design a second live environment, but with a different pair and pool settings. This changes fees inside the pool as trades happen; it’s not fee conversion after fees have already been earned.
