Visa is expanding its stablecoin push into everyday business payments. Approved firms can now use USDC to fund cross-border payouts across more than 180 countries, including outside normal banking hours.
That is the practical change. Instead of waiting for banks to open before moving dollars for a payout, firms working through Visa Direct partners such as Inyo Global can hold funds in USDC and send them when needed, day or night. The payout still reaches the local banking system at the other end, but the funding step no longer has to wait on traditional bank windows.
Visa had previously tested both USDC and PayPal’s PYUSD, but this commercial rollout is centered on USDC. And at least for now, this is aimed at payment firms and other financial partners rather than the broader public.
