Hypercall, the options venue built on Hyperliquid, has now cleared $640 million in cumulative volume since launching in June. The big jump came in September, when notional volume hit $536 million, nearly as much as the rest of the platform’s short history combined.

What stands out is where that trading happened. Most of the flow was in S&P 500-linked options, not in Bitcoin or Ether contracts. That makes Hypercall notable inside the Hyperliquid ecosystem, because the demand here is not mainly for crypto risk. Users are coming on-chain for traditional market exposure.

The activity also centered on very short-dated contracts, with many expiring the next day. Bitcoin and Ether options, added at the end of August, helped lift overall September volume, but index-linked contracts still led the mix. So the clearest signal from this surge is not just growth. It is that on-chain options are already attracting traders who want equity-style exposure, not only crypto trades.
