NEAR’s House of Stake has approved lowering the network’s maximum annual issuance from 2.5% to 1.6%. The proposal now moves to the next stage of the governance process.

Across 48 one-hour candles, NEAR falls from $4.3271 to $3.8506, down 11.01%. Support is $3.84; resistance is $3.93.

The governance result sets a lower supply ceiling, but the change is not live yet. With a 24-month phase-in, any reduction in new issuance would arrive gradually rather than as an immediate supply shock. For holders who do not stake, lower issuance could reduce dilution. For validators and stakers, it could also mean a smaller reward pool. The next checkpoint is whether the Security Council, ratification process, and validators carry the proposal through.
