Arbitrum’s DAO is voting on whether to add 100 million ARB to its incentive budget for Paxos’s USDG stablecoin. The proposal would direct rewards toward liquidity, integrations and broader use of USDG across the network. The on-chain vote opened October 29 and runs through November 12.
That makes this a decision about ecosystem allocation, not just a bid to raise stablecoin supply. Arbitrum joined the Global Dollar Network, with USDG positioned to become a default dollar asset for parts of the ecosystem. The proposal backs a stablecoin tied to a network relationship Arbitrum has already entered. Paxos, as issuer, could gain broader distribution; protocols integrating USDG and users deploying it could also receive rewards.
Stablecoins can anchor trading, borrowing and on-chain payments, so the intended return is not only more USDG balances, but activity built around them. 100 million ARB is the amount token holders are being asked to commit to compete for that liquidity. But the vote alone can’t show whether the incentives will create lasting use. The durability test comes as rewards fade: whether users keep using USDG because it has a place in Arbitrum’s DeFi markets, or leave when the subsidy ends.
