Hanwha Investment and Securities, a major South Korean brokerage, has finished building a tokenized securities platform that will run on Avalanche and other blockchains. The core of the story is not a token launch. Hanwha has built the technical rails that could let conventional financial products, including funds, bonds, and shares, exist on blockchain-based infrastructure rather than older ledger systems.

The key timing point is that Hanwha completed development before South Korea’s new tokenized securities framework takes effect on February 4, 2027. On that date, amendments backed by the Financial Services Commission will legally recognize security tokens as a digitized form of securities. South Korea’s rollout is expected to be phased under an FSC roadmap.

For Avalanche, the move adds a traditional finance use case to its roster, but the market response was muted, with Avalanche trading around $8.06 on September 7. The next checkpoint is whether Hanwha moves from a completed platform to actual tokenized offerings once the new rules are live.

Hanwha’s tokenized-securities platform on Avalanche now shifts to real usage, and that adoption pace sets the next milestone.
