Circle, the U S fintech firm behind the USDC stablecoin, has taken crypto sponsorship to a new level by signing as Chelsea Football Club’s main shirt sponsor. From the 2026/27 season, Circle and USDC branding will appear on the men’s Premier League kit, as well as the women’s and academy teams, with Chelsea saying the rollout begins at the men’s first home match against Brighton.
The deal is reported at around $88 million per year, making Circle the front-of-shirt brand on one of the most watched clubs in world football. USDC branding will also appear across Stamford Bridge and Chelsea’s club and digital channels. That is what makes this unusual: it is not a niche crypto logo buy. It is a stablecoin brand paying for mass exposure across matchday, broadcast, and club media, on a scale that goes far beyond a typical sponsorship.
Circle’s USDC on Chelsea shirts is the consumer-branding bet to watch as stablecoins chase mainstream legitimacy.
