MoneyGram has added Solana to its Ramps service, letting wallets and exchanges connect Solana users to MoneyGram’s cash network. In practical terms, that gives people a way to move between local currency and Solana-based assets through a network that spans more than 170 countries.
That matters because for many users, the hard part is not sending crypto onchain. It is getting money in and out of the system. Instead of building separate cash access tools market by market, platforms on Solana can plug into an existing global footprint.
MoneyGram rolled out Ramps in May 2025, and Solana is the latest chain to be added. The two companies already had a broader relationship through validator and developer-platform work.
If this gets adopted by major wallets and exchanges, Solana becomes easier to use for payments and remittances in the real world, not just inside crypto markets.
