Curve Finance launched StableSwap on Stellar mainnet on October 29, marking the protocol’s first native deployment beyond EVM-compatible networks. The move takes Curve’s stable-asset trading product onto Stellar’s Soroban smart-contract platform, rather than extending it through an EVM-linked version. On Stellar, users and developers can create pools, swap compatible assets and provide liquidity within the network’s own application stack.
That’s an architectural change as well as a new distribution channel. Curve’s previous deployments stayed within EVM environments; this one tests whether its core liquidity product can operate across a different chain architecture. Stellar already has an established stablecoin and tokenized-asset footprint, giving Curve access to a distinct set of users and assets. Founder Michael Egorov cited institutional interest in using Curve’s infrastructure beyond EVM networks as a driver for the expansion.
But wider protocol access isn’t the same as stronger demand for CRV: the token fell 18.31% over the week to $0.2849. That price move doesn’t measure Stellar usage, and the launch alone doesn’t establish whether the new deployment will attract sustained liquidity.
