Chainlink has launched two products aimed at a practical barrier to institutional DeFi: using tokenized assets as lending collateral without moving them out of qualified custody, and keeping their value current when traditional markets are closed. CustodySync links assets held with a custodian to lending markets through a transfer-restricted receipt token, so the underlying assets can remain in custody. Anchorage Digital is the launch partner. Chainlink data feeds provide pricing to both sides, helping keep collateral values, margin calls and liquidations aligned.

Chainlink 24/7 addresses the pricing gap for tokenized real-world assets, including through weekends and holidays. Aave is using those feeds on Horizon, its institutional platform, to value that collateral. Aave founder Stani Kulechov said the service lets the protocol value real-world-asset collateral through periods when traditional finance is offline. The combined setup is custody, an onchain representation of the asset and continuous pricing; the intended result is access to lending without giving up established custody arrangements.

The adoption signal is specific: Anchorage is the initial custody partner, and Aave is using the pricing service. Whether other custodians, lending venues and issuers adopt the same arrangement is the next test of whether this extends beyond those initial integrations.
