Ripple has created XRP Asia in Singapore, giving the recent XRP move a business development to track. The stated goal is simple: increase XRP Ledger payment volumes by 2027.

Singapore matters because it is already Ripple’s regional base. The company has operated there since 2017, and in December 2025 it said Ripple Markets APAC won approval to expand its payment activities. That gives this new unit an existing local payments footprint to build from.

So the key test is not the announcement itself or the price reaction. It is whether XRP Ledger payment volume actually grows in the years ahead. If that growth shows up, this starts to look like a real operating expansion. If it does not, the move stays closer to a market story than a business one.
