BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF had a huge trading day. IBIT handled $1.56 billion in turnover in the latest session, making it the fifth most-traded ETF on the day. That also put it well ahead of GLD, the big gold ETF, which traded about $907.6 million. In other words, IBIT did roughly 72% more trading than GLD.

That does not mean new money poured into Bitcoin. Turnover just means shares changed hands, often because of active trading, volatility, or hedging. But it does show where ETF trading was busiest that session: Bitcoin, not gold. So while this was just one day and not a long-term trend, IBIT was one of the market’s main trading hubs in that stretch.
