Aave is moving to wind down V3 markets across six smaller deployments, including Scroll and zkSync, as part of a proposal to retire 50 low-use reserves.

The cleanup would affect about $98.1 million in supplied assets and $15.6 million in outstanding debt. LlamaRisk, Aave’s risk service provider, recommended the offboarding after reviewing user activity, liquidity, and operational overhead across those markets. The plan also ends support for 21 matured Pendle principal tokens.

If approved, the affected markets would be frozen for new activity, while borrowing rates and reserve factors are adjusted to push users toward closing positions over time instead of forcing abrupt exits.

For users, the main question is simple: are their positions on the wind-down list, and how will liquidity change during that process? The next step is governance, since Aave’s DAO still has to approve the proposal before any contract changes happen.
