Progmat has just completed one of the largest institutional blockchain migrations announced this year, moving more than ¥452 billion, about $2.8 billion, in digital securities from the Corda platform to a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1 blockchain. This isn’t a trial. Every active project on Progmat’s security-token system is now live on Avalanche.
The switch matters because it isn’t just about new technology; it’s about faster rights transfers, which in tokenized securities are the legal and operational record of ownership. Progmat says transaction finality is now under 2 seconds on Avalanche, which means the transfer of ownership rights can be confirmed almost instantly. That’s 3 to 5 times faster than the previous setup.
The migration also preserved the institutional controls financial players require. In a weaker market backdrop for risk assets, the move stands out because real-world asset infrastructure is still advancing in production, not in pilot mode. The milestone to watch next is whether this operational shift is followed by visible changes in trading activity or new issuance volumes.
